That so sweetly were forsworn;
And those eyes, the break of day,
Lights that do mislead the morn:

Seals of love, but seal'd in vain, seal'd in vain.
Modern rendering
가져가라, 오 가져가라, 그 입술을,
그토록 달콤하게 거짓 맹세를 한 입술을.
그리고 그 눈도 가져가라, 새벽 같은 눈,
아침을 그릇된 길로 이끄는 빛들.
다만 내 입맞춤은 돌려다오, 돌려다오.
사랑의 봉인이었으나 헛되이 찍힌 봉인, 헛되이 찍힌 봉인을.
